Subject: The daughters of Francis STRANGE of Abingdon, Berkshire.
Paul Strange has connected his Berkshire Strange family with my Suffolk Strange family.  He found a will for my Francis Strange born in All Saints South Elmham, Suffolk when he moved to London. Luckily for both of us, Francis Strange married Francis Stockens/Stockings in Mendham, Suffolk and they became nonconformists.   They and their children appeared on the LDS British Vital Records Index because they registered their children in Dr William's Library in London.  Frances' maiden name was also included which allowed me to identify them in London and pin down their location. Paul took it from there. The executor in this Francis' will was his son - William Strange of Abingdon, Berkshire - wine merchant. So Francis Strange's daughters' marriages are of immense interest to both of us.   My Strange people left Suffolk from around 1780 to 1850 and they headed towards London and goodness knows where else. Paul's branch, headed by Francis of Finsbury (my ggg grandmother's brother), was the first of his generation to head to London and from there to Berkshire. I am hoping that maybe some of his siblings who initially lived in Southwold, Suffolk but then gradually disappeared from Suffolk may have moved to be near their brother. The sisters married Suffolk men and stayed in Suffolk but kept up a correspondence with their siblings as evidenced by one of Paul's branch visiting one of my branch in the 1871 census. The forenames our Strange family used frequently were: Francis, Isaac, Samuel, John, James and later, William.
